This past week, you have been given an equipment list identifying several pieces of clothing and equipment you will need for your coursework. Using this equipment list, your book, and the discussions we have had in class, please respond to this post (by clicking on the "comments" link below) and
- List out the pieces of clothing and gear you already own, and then
- Identify each piece you still need to acquire in the next few weeks as we prepare for your expeditions
- Finally, identify where you will research and look for each piece of gear you need and when you expect to have it by.
This is due before class on Friday, September 16.

2. I still need a mess kit,2 1-liter water bottles, winter gloves, winter hat, warm pants, waterproof/breathable pant shell, warm jacket, waterproof/breathable jacket shell, Rain gear, polypropylene Undergarments, warm synthetic socks, waterproof/breathable paddling/sailing jacket,2 drybags, wetsuit or dry gear, rock climbing shoes and a waterproof watch with an alarm.
3. I'll probably be going to Epic Sports this weekend to check out some gear. I expect to have the most essential gear this upcoming weekend. Some Items will have to wait for a couple more weeks until I get paid again. I'm considering buying an internal frame backpack due to comfort issues.

ReplyDeleteSleeping bag*
1. Right now I have mostly everything on the list. Sleeping bag, ground pad, backpack, daypack, mess kit, two nalgenes, hiking boots, winter gloves, winter hat, warm pants, warm jacket, raingear, polypropylene undergarments, warm socks (wool), compass, 2 drybags, headlamp, PFD, water shoes, and waterproof watch are the items that I have.
ReplyDelete2. There are a few items that I need such as a waterproof/breathable shell top and bottom. However, I need to swap out a few items that I have with better products. My hiking boots that I have are heavy, stiff, and get this...steel-toed. My poly undergarments need replacement as well. They are old and don't seem to be up to snuff anymore.
3. To be really honest I am going to have to get anything I need in town because I don't have any time to go to a decent sport shop. For the clothing I will look it up online reading any feedback on the items and googleing them to see how they rate. As far as my hiking boots is concerend I am hoping to get somewhere to try them on in store as suggested to ensure proper fit. As you know from our discussion I have a big and narrow foot which is hard to buy shoes for for a woman. I am in hopes of having the poly in the next week or so and the boots in October.
